How to upload videos

In most families there is generally someone with a video camera. Any digital video camera (camcorder) can produce video which will need to be transfered to your computer and can then be up loaded to an online video website, like YouTube. On YouTube's home page you will see an 'Upload' icon, once clicked YouTube will step you through the upload procedure.

Once uploaded you can then either put a 'Link' (insert the URL - as shown in the image below) on your own website to your YouTube video. Or 'Embed' the actual video (insert the 'embed' code - as shown in the image below) into a webpage on your own website.

This information is very basic to the many thousands of the YouTube users who regularly upload video to YouTube and other similar online video websites. Less than 5% of uploaded video is original content. In other words the person uploading the video does not own the copyright of the video they upload. Most are just clips of TV programs and uploaded for fun and amusement. But for businesses it is an opportunity to have your own 'commercial', not only on your own website, but on many other online video websites.
